Description
Tomie, Junji Ito's breakthrough work from 1986 and one of his most famous works in the horror manga genre, is now reborn as a statue in an exciting collaboration. Mamegyorai (Ampus, Inc) and Junji Ito present this collaborative creation, where sculptor Yoshiki Fujimoto has produced the prototype and color samples under Junji Ito's close supervision. The product was approved by Junji Ito as the final release.
The statue depicts Tomie with graceful arms and legs, every nail and detail meticulously crafted. She strides confidently forward in a gesture that sweeps back her long hair, radiating a captivating and calculating beauty. Fujimoto's color scheme highlights subtle blushes on the cheeks, fingertips, and skin, adding a seductive hue.
The base provides a dramatic contrast: other incarnations of Tomie are visible hidden beneath flesh and black hair. Among them is a blood-soaked version that stares up in awe at the elegant Tomie who is stepping on her—an evocative scene that suggests revenge or tragedy.
Embrace the eerily alluring beauty of this Tomie statue and welcome her to your collection.
