In Gerry Anderson's UFO Interceptors were one-man hunters that formed SHADO's first line of defense against alien UFO craft. They were based on the moon and usually operated in groups of three. Each Interceptor was armed with a nuclear missile, which the three hunters fired simultaneously to create a wide area of destruction. They were designed to operate in space rather than in the Earth's atmosphere. This die-cast model is based on the acclaimed Sixteen 12 mold.
