Who is Phoenix Ikki?

In terms of pure strength, Phoenix Ikki the most powerful of the Bronze Saints in Saint Seiya. Despite being officially a Bronze Saint, his power surpasses most Silver Saints. As the direct opposite of his younger brother Shun of Andromeda Ikki is harsh, cold, aggressive and a loner. His Cosmo is unique – filled with hatred, rage and immense power – but at the same time guided by his deep love and loyalty to his brother, his friends and Saori Kido.

During his brutal training at Death Queen Island Ikki witnessed how Emerald, the woman he loved, died because of his own failure. Her death, along with his master's Guilty reckless behavior, filled him with a burning hatred that drove him to kill his teacher and take The Phoenix Armor in possession. As leader of the The Black Saints he sought revenge, but later regretted his actions and chose to fight for the goddess Athena, where he repeatedly saved his friends and his brother. From being the series' first antagonist, he became one of its most powerful allies.
