Description

Who is Anxiety?

In the sequel to Inside Out (2015) discovers the now teenage Riley Anderson completely new feelings within themselves. Alongside the well-known Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who previously dominated the control room, makes the dreaded Anxiety entrance together with Envy, Ennui, Embarrassment and Nostalgia. As Riley prepares for high school, her original emotions work together to organize her memories in a new way and shape her personality through the threads that express her inner self.

The old feelings are caught off guard when they meet Anxiety, one of the new emotions in Riley's mind. She prepares the young teenager for every possible negative scenario through carefully organized lists and plans, all to ensure that Riley never makes a mistake. Anxiety always thinks ten steps ahead, doesn't hesitate to highlight the worst possible outcomes, and believes that perfection is the key to Riley achieving her goals. She personifies nervousness, tension, and stress, and her main task is to protect Riley from dangers she can't yet see, as well as to plan for the future.

Explore the Anxiety statue

Dressed in a high-pile orange and white striped knit sweater, burnt sienna pants, and dark brown military boots with carefully tied laces, this personification of a new feeling makes its entrance into a young girl's mind. With her orange skin, her face reminiscent of a small frog, and her hairstyle resembling a volcanic eruption, she immediately catches the eye.

The energetic green-eyed figure stands smiling with open arms, ready to carry her six suitcases. She stands on a base that recreates the floor of the control room in Riley's mind, decorated with the colorful glass marbles - Memory Orbs – where her memories are kept.
