Zhu Bajie is one of the most vivid and complex characters in Journey to the West. He often appears grumpy and carefree, can be quick-tempered, and boasts about his past as a Celestial Admiral. His flirtatious nature leads him to pursue women, and his love of food is so strong that he often thinks about meals even in the midst of battle.

Despite his weaknesses, Bajie is loyal and protective of his friends, especially Sun Wukong. As he matures, he becomes wiser and more strategic, without losing his compassionate heart.
