Description
Set against the backdrop of the late 19th century, an era of scientific advancement, THE SECRET OF BLUE WATER NADIA tells the story of a young boy and girl, their fateful meeting, and their journey of maturity.
This 90s anime, directed by Hideaki Anno, marked the beginning of his sci-fi adventures. Nadia and Jean now make their debut in the Concept Masterline series: Jean sits happily with a beaming smile and relaxed posture, while Nadia leans next to him with a soft, affectionate expression.
The statue is inspired by an illustration that captures a fleeting moment of warmth in the midst of their turbulent journey. Their gazes are fixed on the same future, their limbs are loosely extended, and the subtle closeness reflects their trust — all details carefully executed to convey the emotions they share.
The sculpture and painting capture the brushstrokes of the original illustration, the charm of the anime, and the depth of three-dimensional form. Nadia's vibrant skin tone, with orange and white creating a strong contrast, is shaded to highlight its vibrancy. Jean's gold-colored diving suit shines with a subdued luster and is sculpted to show the suit's loose silhouette over the body. Their companion King is rendered with powerful lines and careful painting to capture his character from every angle.
The custom-designed base is richly textured: a leather sofa with realistic scuffs and creases, an oxygen tank reminiscent of the sea, and wooden planks that breathe seafaring history. In front of the base, the Blue Water glow entices the viewer to immerse themselves in the series.
More than three decades after its premiere, the story of these two continues to fascinate. Here, their colors and vibrancy have been captured in a work that will rekindle the adventure and romance within you.
